On Essentials you can create 2 products; on Flow, 5.
Create your product
Go to Products in the sidebar and click New product. The editor is organised into tabs along the top. Product type (on the General tab) is required; most other fields are optional.
General
Describe your product so the buyer knows exactly what they're paying for.
- Name — what buyers see at checkout (e.g. "Workshop ticket — June 12").
- Slug (URL) — the end of your checkout link (e.g.
demo-purchase→/your-name/demo-purchase). - Product type (required) — used on your invoices. It does not change the VAT shown at checkout.
- Terms & conditions URL (optional) — shown as a link on this product's checkout page. Leave empty to use your account-wide terms.
- Description & highlights — a short description with the key benefits, written in the rich text editor (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, bullet list, link). Shows on the checkout page.
Media
- Product image (optional) — shown on the checkout page when a buyer opens your payment link. Recommended 1200 × 630 px, max 2 MB.
Pricing
Set the price excluding VAT — bookto adds VAT automatically based on the buyer's country.
- Price (euro) — the price excluding VAT.
- Discount (optional) — a fixed amount or a percentage. The editor shows the resulting price after discount live.
- VAT rate (%) — standard Belgian rates are 21%, 6%, or 0%. Enter 0 for VAT-exempt products.
After payment
Choose what happens after a successful payment.
- Post-purchase email — a built-in email sent directly by bookto checkout. Set a Subject line (max 150 characters) and an Email body (rich text, max 2000 characters), then toggle it between Draft and Active — only active emails are sent. Use it for download links, booking confirmations, or next steps, and mention your own email address so buyers can reply to you.
SEO (Flow plan)
Control how your checkout link looks when shared on LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Facebook, and more — OG Title, OG Description, and OG Image. Leave them empty and bookto auto-generates them from your product. Full details: How your link looks when shared.
Custom fields (Flow plan)
Ask buyers for up to 3 extra pieces of information at checkout (a size, a date, a confirmation). Each field has a name, a type, and a "mandatory" toggle. These fields only collect information — they don't change the price. Full details: Custom checkout fields.
When you're done, click Save (or Update product when editing). Your product is now live and has its own checkout link. Want to see it from the buyer's side? See What your buyer sees at checkout.
Product limits
The product limit counts all products — active and inactive. On Essentials you can have 2 products in total; on Flow, 5. If you reach the limit, you can't create or activate new products until you delete an existing one. Deactivating a product does not free up a slot — only deleting does.
If you downgrade from Flow to Essentials and have more than 2 products, all your products are automatically deactivated. You can then reactivate up to 2 and delete the rest.
