Now that your account is complete, you can connect Mollie. In your dashboard, go to Integrations and open the Mollie card.
Just exploring? You don't need a verified Mollie account to try bookto checkout — a free, instant test key is enough to run the full flow. See Get your Mollie test key →.
What is Mollie?
Mollie is a European payment provider. It handles the actual payment from your buyer (credit card, Bancontact, iDEAL, SEPA direct debit) and transfers the money to your bank account. bookto is a checkout layer — it doesn't process payments itself. Mollie does the regulated, PCI-compliant work of moving money. Your buyers pay on a checkout page that looks like yours, but the payment itself is handled securely by Mollie in the background.
How to connect
- Go to mollie.com and log in.
- Click your company name in the top left and select your account.
- Go to Developers → API keys.
- You'll see a Live API key (starting with
live_) and a Test API key (starting withtest_). Use the secret keys, not the publishable key. - Copy the Test secret key.
- In bookto, go to Integrations and open the Mollie card.
- Paste the key into the Test secret key field and save — you'll see a confirmation that a test key is saved.
- Repeat for the Live secret key when you're ready to go live.
No Mollie account yet? Signing up takes about 10 minutes. Your test key works immediately — you can test the full checkout flow before Mollie has verified your account. Live payments only start working once Mollie completes verification, which usually takes one business day.
